Courses
Catechists work toward certification by attending workshops sponsored by Catholic Youth and School Services (CYSS), other diocesan offices, college outreach programs, local parishes, etc. They may also view videotapes or read books on a particular topic and write a summary/ response to it. These activities are then recorded on a "Growing-in-Faith" record sheet, and, when sufficient hours have been earned, should be submitted to the Catechetical Leader on the form in the "Growing-in-Faith" manual to CYSS so that proper certificates can be issued. Growing-in-Faith Handbooks which explain and provide space for logging courses and workshops are available to catechists through their catechetical leader from CYSS.

Workshops
CYSS offers Growing-in-Faith workshops at various times throughout the year. These workshops are listed in the monthly newsletter "Religion Reflections."
