Every year, our schools throughout the diocese enter into the spirit of Lent by focusing on a particular cause that benefits those in most need. Past year's efforts were hugely successful. Through the generosity of many, Maris Stella and Nkosiyetu schools in South Africa and St. Joseph Mission in Haiti received both money and prayers of support. Committing to our faith through service is an essential mark of Catholic Schools and we are proud of that committment.

The season of Lent is an opportunity for those who profess faith in Christ to go with Him "into the desert." During Lent, we pray, fast and give alms so as to deepen our relationship with God and one another.

Summary:

The children in the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Toledo raised $17,072.26 for the relief effort.
