A few items to follow up our Regional Principals’ Meetings:

 

 

LENTEN PROJECT:

If you are interested in taking part in the Lenten Project (Rice Bowls), contact Deacon Paul White at the Catholic Center, 419-244-6711, ext. 503.

 

 

PROTECTING YOUTH ONLINE COURSE:

At the meetings, we discussed the new online version of the “Protecting Youth” workshop.  This online version will be only for people who are taking it as a renewal.  For people taking it for the first time, Protecting Youth must be taken in the original face-to-face workshop format.  If you would like to take the Protecting Youth on-line course, go to www.shieldthevulnerable.org    As soon as it is ready for the public, we will let you know.

 

 

“GOLDEN APPLE” TEACHER AWARDS:

Thanks to Shari Beier, the information concerning the 2007-08 Golden Apple Awards has been updated and is now posted on the CYSS website, Teachers’ Page.  Please notify your parents and teachers to begin thinking about a teacher they may want to nominate.  You can make copies of the nomination form for them or tell them that the information can be downloaded at http://www.cyss.org/Schools/teacher.html  Click on Golden Apple Award.  Remember, nominations are due to the teacher’s Principal by February 14.

 

 

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK:

Consider writing to your legislators, both Ohio and national.  Information and a sample letter was part of last week’s Principals’ Bulletin.

 

Also, be sure to respond to Colleen Buckman’s e-mail sent to you on January 9.  She wants to put together some PR items to promote our schools during Catholic Schools Week.  If you have any questions, call Colleen at 419-244-6711, ext. 149.

 

 

SCHOOLS’ INFORMATION PACKET ORDER FORM:

The “Schools’ Information Packets” can be ordered through the Diocesan Communications Office.  You can either print an order form and mail/fax it to the Communications Office or order online using the link in this article.  If you would like packets in time for Open Houses in March, you will need to place orders by January 28.  If you have any questions, call Colleen Buckman in the Communications Department at 419-244-6711, ext. 149.  To order online: http://www.toledodiocese.org/content/section/19/203

 

 

REGIONAL MEETINGS’ AFTERNOON SESSION:

We would appreciate your feedback on the ideas and the video presented at the afternoon sessions at our regional meetings.

REMEMBER IN YOUR PRAYERS:

This week, a father of an 8th grade student at Sacred Heart, Bethlehem died after a 2 ½ year battle with cancer.  Please remember the family of Gary Givirtz in your prayers.
