FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT…

 

We know we said there wouldn’t be a bulletin this week, but we have just a few things that we knew you would want to know before Christmas break.  Again, our best wishes to you and your school communities during this holy and wondrous Christmas season!

 

SCHOOLS’ INFORMATION PACKET ORDER FORM:

We have finalized the cost for the Schools’ Information Packets (these are the folders that we shared with you at the October Principals’ Meeting at Sawmill).  You can either print an order form and mail/fax it to the Communications Office or order online using the link in this article.  The deadline for placing an order so that you will have materials for Catholic Schools’ Week is Friday, January 4.  There will be another window in late January for ordering additional packets if you will need more for Open Houses in March.  If you have any questions, call Colleen Buckman in the Communications Department at 419-244-6711, ext. 149.  To print an order form –or- order online: http://www.toledodiocese.org/content/section/19/203

 

ANTI-BULLYING POLICY:

According to House Bill 276, public schools in Ohio are required to have an Anti-Bullying Policy in place by December 30, 2007.  While this bill does not apply to non-public schools, our schools certainly should have anti-bullying policies as part of the discipline code in their handbooks.

 

Some of our schools have asked about a requirement to send a copy of their policy to ODE.  Be aware that our schools are NOT required to send in anything regarding this policy to the state.  More information about House Bill 276 will be given at the Regional Principals’ Meetings in January.

 

 

CYSS CANCELLATION/HOTLINE REMINDER:

Since the winter weather is definitely upon us, CYSS wanted to remind you about our Cancellation Hotline.  This information is for teachers and administrators to check to see if diocesan meetings have been changed or cancelled because of inclement weather. CORRECTION ON SCANTRON INSERVICE DATES FOR TEACHERS:

The dates for the Teacher In-Services listed in last week’s Principals’  Bulletin should have read:  Teacher in-services will be held on January 15, at Defiance Catholic School, St. John Campus, January 16, at St. Pat’s of Heatherdowns Holy Family Center and January 17, at Bellevue, Immaculate Conception, from 3:45 – 5:30.
