SUMMIT - Saturday, September 9, 2006 at St. Michael's Findlay
Purpose
To come together as the Central Region of the Diocese to begin looking at opportunities to collaborate and consolidate resources and talents in order to ensure the viability of
Catholic
School
education for all families who desire it.
Outcomes
- To understand the progress made since the Diocesan summit.
- To understand the common strengths, weaknesses and threats to Catholic education in our Region.
- To foster a sense of unity among the Catholic
schools
of our Region that creates a spirit of cooperation with a common purpose.
- To explore and share best practice, innovative models, and creative ideas for developing partnerships.
- To expand the support of Catholic school education to a wider audience.
- To leave with the knowledge that we have been part of the decision-making process.
- To leave as a region with the conviction that there is a viable strategy for success which creates hope for the future and that there are clear steps laid out to ensure that we are faithful to the vision.
2006-2007 Annual Imperatives
- Collaborate and share resources and ideas
- Develop better communication within and between parishes with schools and parishes without.
- Identify avenues to increase support for schools and parishes
- Explore, develop, and implement ways to further educate and evangelize all in the Catholic faith.
- Explore innovative ways to meet the unique educational needs of all students.
