Summit

Purpose
To come together to celebrate our past and embrace the future of Catholic school education for all of our children.

Outcomes

  • To understand the progress made since the November 2005 Diocesan Summit.
  • To understand the common strengths, weaknesses and threats to Catholic education in our Region.
  • To foster a sense of unity among the Catholic schools of our Region that creates a spirit of cooperation with a common purpose.
  • To explore and share best practice, innovative models and creative ideas for developing partnerships.
  • To expand the support of Catholic school education to a wider audience.
  • To leave with the knowledge that we are participating in the decision-making process.
  • To leave with a clear understanding of the steps that need to be taken to ensure that we are faithful to the vision.
  • To leave with the conviction that there is a viable strategy for success which creates hope for the future!

2006-2007 Annual Imperatives

  • Increase the level of collaboration and sharing of resources in parishes and schools in the Southeast Region of the Diocese.
  • Inspire parishes with or without schools to unite and support the mission of Catholic education in word and action.
  • Promote stewardship as a way of life.
  • Establish a joint development and marketing team to promote and sustain Catholic schools in the Southeast Region.
  • Support Catholic school education through the 12th grade.
